Live at The Iron Cathedral [Full Concert 4K]

“In an awe-inspiring display of artistic vision, Nottinghamshire composer and pianist Chris Miggells revitalised the once abandoned Clipstone Headstocks, a former colliery site vacant for over two decades. The result: a triumphant live concert which was so successful that two extra dates were added and the event ran for three consecutive sold out performances. This extraordinary concert has been documented in a feature-length film and released as the ground-breaking album, ‘Live at The Iron Cathedral.'”

Stone Giant [Official Video]

“Miggells performs an original piece ‘Stone Giant’ inside the derelict powerhouse of Clipstone Colliery, known as the ‘Iron Cathedral‘ in a fitting tribute to his local town, family history and the mining heritage site. This unique piano composition was recorded live on set in one take in the coal mines’ 50-foot-high main room, which adds its distinctive reverberations to the piano. This recording gives the experience of a one-of-a-kind live performance in a totally unique acoustic environment.”

Stone Giant – The Making of [Documentary]

“A behind-the-scenes documentary featuring the logistical expertise of the world renowned piano company, Sherwood Phoenix. A century old hand-pulled mining crane was used to raise a £100,000 Steinway & Sons grand piano into the Powerhouse at Clipstone Headstocks for a live recording session like no other.”

Live at The Headstocks [Concert Promo]

“Chris Miggells independently launched his debut album premiere concert at this very location, originally taking place on Thursday 3rd of August 2023. The event received such high demand that two extra performance dates were added. Each concert completely sold out and this series of performances have been hailed as a roaring success. This is the promotional video which showcased the extraordinary venue.”

Live at The Albert Hall

“Pianist and composer Chris Miggells performs live at The Albert Hall, in his hometown of Nottingham. Miggells was invited to give an uplifting performance for the Nottingham College Graduation Ceremony. He chose ‘Clair de Lune’ by Debussy as this was an inspiration for him to learn the piano; he recalls after hearing such mesmerising sounds of cascading arpeggios and intimate sections of poetic harmony, the endless possibilities of the piano were illuminated for him thereafter. His original composition ‘Flight of The Phoenix‘ also made its world premiere at this special occasion, this new piece is one of the leading works from the debut album ‘Synesthese’.”

Clipstone Headstocks Fireworks Show

“Chris Miggells wowed 5,000 spectators at Clipstone Headstocks as he gave a special live performance on stage by synchronising his music with a spectacular fireworks display. This included select pieces from his debut album, Synesthese, such as the Flight of The Phoenix, Stone Giant and Aurora. With Synesthese, Chris explores the theme of experiencing natural phenomena and world wonders whilst they intertwine with the neurological condition, synesthesia”

Live at The Royal Concert Hall

“Chris Miggells performs live at The Royal Concert Hall, making a special guest appearance as an inspirational alumnus for the Nottingham College Graduation Ceremony. This momentous occasion marked the world premiere of two compositions from his debut album, ‘Synesthese‘. The first piece, Stone Giant, was influenced by the breath-taking and immense sights of the Grand Canyon, which Chris visited whilst on tour in America. The second piece, Aurora, is a representation of a mystifying encounter with Aurora Borealis (also known as The Northern Lights) in Mývatn, Iceland.”
